I just cloned my Powerbook G4 (Al) to a firewire external drive. The G4's internal hard drive is showing SMART status Failing. I can boot into OSX off the firewire drive but it logs in as a different user without Administrator privileges. I've tried my regular Admin username and password but it's incorrect. I thought by using CCC, I can get an exact clone of the Powerbook's settings and files. Did I miss something? I chose to clone everything that CCC listed i.e. Apps, Users, System etc.

I'm running OS 10.4.3

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Do you have your CCC preferences set to "Synchronize source to target" and to "Delete items not on source", as well as "Make bootable"?

I've been wondering....If you use "synchronize source to target" and there are other files you want on the external hard drive, will they be deleted? Or would that only happen in you select "delete items not on source"? I have a few folders on the external hard drive that are not on my laptop. I want to keep those folders on the external only. Would it be bad if I selected "synchronize source to target"?
