endless kernal panics after installing.
just archive & installed.

rebuilding everything.

anyone know where i can find the 7.1 installer? (ie NOT 7.1.1)....

may just be unique to me...

anyway, 2 hours later.
archive&installed, checked all my apps,
dL'd extra stuff...
and am back in business.


again, anyone know where i can find the 7.1 installer?? apple only offers 7.1.1
(and i am not trying THAT again..!)

FYI, I installed 7.1.1 on my 1.33GHz 12" iBook without a hitch.

Solid as a rock.

well, i have the same exact mac...
and you're at 10.4.6??

may *gasp* try this again friday (a day off)...

What third party quicktime plug-ins did you have? That might be the source of the problem.

No problem here either. Flip4Mac and DivX codecs installed. Running Final Cut Studio in a production environment without a hitch. (FCP 5.0.4).

a longtime later followup:

after backing up everything...
redownloaded & installed 7.1.1, and all is good.

must have been a damaged install before.
