Firefox messes up Slashdot's new look. What's the fix?

Slashdot.org has implemented a new look. It works fine with Safari, but both Firefox and Camino render it with lots of spacing errors as show below. Anyone know what's causing this and if there is a preference change that will fix it?

I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.4 on Windows and I don't have any problems rendering Slashdot's new look.

The G4 optimized version of Firefox (Deer Park 1.5) also works fine.

What's borked is they made the fatal mistake of using PNG graphics combined with html colors, which never works in Safari (blame a million different variables).

No such issues here (FF1.5.0.4 on OS X).

Any guesses on why it's messed up on my system (10.4.6). Any Gecko-based browser has this problem on my computer. Could it be a disabled font?

Looks great in Safari here. What issues are you seeing?

See the screenshot in the original post. The words and letters get squished together but only in Firefox, Camino, or Mozilla, not in Safari.

Actually yeah, that's the only thing I can think of.

You could try dumping the browser caches as well. Probably wouldn't do anything, but wouldn't hurt to try.

Yep. Just another "me, too..." post. Works fine in Firefox, Camino & Safari for me.

What are you referring to? Slashdot is rendering perfectly in Safari, and I've never encountered bugs or deficiencies with Safari's PNG rendering (lack of gamma curve support notwithstanding).

Yeah what's this about PNG problems?
Anyway, no problems here either (FF 1.5.0.2), I suppose it could be a font problem. I'd also try clearing caches and preferences.
BTW I dig their new look, it's about time they modernized, much easier to read.

No /. issues here on Camino (stable 1.0.1 build) or Safari. And yeah, another vote for the new look. I <3 it!
