You need to download Stuffit Expander to decompress that .sitx file.

Yes, Flip4Mac is where it's at. Even Microsoft thinks it's better than Windows Media Player, as Microsoft is the one that's paying the company to make Flip4Mac free. It's also a universal binary, so it's native on your MacBook.

A closed beta has been released, and it works great. You can find it on a bunch of torrent sites if you're so inclined...

Umm...it's not Universal. U can get it to run, by making the installer run under Rosetta though. However, even Quicktime will need to be rendered under Rosetta to use Flip4Mac. Hope it helps.

Ah I see. I didn't realize the universal version of Flip4Mac is only beta. (I hadn't gotten around to installing it on my MacBook yet.)

For those interested, I did a brief search, and came up with these details:

The Flip4Mac WMV v2.1.0.24 beta includes the following new features and bug fixes

>Added universal binary support for Intel Macs
>Added significant export optimizations for PowerPC Macs
>Added multi language audio support in player
>Added overlay when importing WMV content in trial mode
>Improved support for MMS servers and live streams
>Fixed DCT Blocking issue (progressive deterioration with increasing distance from previous keyframe)

Not yet added/known issues (to be included in future beta versions):
>Optimizations for WMV playback on Intel machines.
>2-pass VBR green shift issue
>2-pass VBR keyframe issue
