Hey guys.

I have a few problems with my MBP running Photoshop CS2.

Whenever I load the program, and try to do anything, I keep getting the error message saying "Could not complete your request because of a program error ". Its stopping me doing any work. It doesnt seem localised to any part of photoshop and gives the error message pretty much as soon as its finished loading up. Its installed part of the Creative Suite. Off the CD's I have Illustrator CS2 also installed. Illustrator runs perfectly , but P/Shop refuses to run.

I have tried trashing the entire Creative Suite, re-installing it. Ive booted into Single User Mode and done fsck -fy. Ive started it using Command+Option+Shift to trash the preferences, I don't have any printers attached. Mac OS and Creative Suite have all latest updates. I have pretty much done all the checks that the Adobe site recommend for getting this error message.

I am honestly at a loss as to what is causing it and it is really annoying me. Does anyone have any ideas?

System is MBP 15", 2Ghz, 1Gig Mem, 100 Gig HDD.

Please help!!

Excellent. Feel better now I at least have an idea of what could be causing it. I'll wait for Apple to sort themselves and see if their fix solves it before carrying on the search1

Thanks.

Is there no way that I can uninstall the latest Quicktime version that was installed through the Auto Update?

I thought CS2 didn't run on Intel macs? They haven't released a Universal Binary yet have they?

Why wouldn't it? What do you think Rosetta was for.

At any rate, whenever I get a photoshop problem I can usually trace it back to some funky font.

Ah now its funny you say that. See I copied about 1000 fonts from my work machine to my Macbook Pro and thats when things started going tits up.

Firefox was using random fonts for Google pages - all other sites were ok - managed to fix that by deleting them and re-adding them. But perhaps it could explain my Photoshop issue?

Could anyone please compile a list of the default fonts that comes with MacOS so I can delete all the fonts I added and see if my problem persists?

Keep in mind, that if you are using Tiger the Font Book can validate fonts and let you know which ones should be removed. Simply open Font Book and select all the fonts in your collection, then go to file and Validate fonts.
