I have Yahoo Messenger installed in my other powerbook. It is set up so when I click it it remembers the username and password and it just launch without prompting me to enter the user info. Been like this for a couple of years.

Now that I've upgraded to a new MacBook, I installed Yahoo Messenger but I can't remember the password. I also used an old email to sign up for the account and now that email is no longer valid, so yahoo can't send me the password by email.

Long story short, is there a way to transfer the info (password specifically) from old mac to new mac? Any work around and ideas? Thanks.

You could look in ~/yourname/Library/Preferences and ~/yourname/Library/Application Support.

Something relating to Yahoo Messenger. Copy this folder/file to the same location on your new computer.

Do a search for Yahoo on your drive and copy every single file it finds to the corresponding location on your new MacBook.

You could look for it in your keychain on the old machine.
