Have been having problems with my Outlook Express 5.0.6 so I attempted to download a new one from the Mactopia site  It fails at the end.  When it indicates completed, the icon changes to blank.   Can't figure out why this has happened after many attempts.
Also if I should succeed with a new download, I'm concerned that there may be a virus in something that is in the old Outlook Express files.   Should all that is there be deleted?

You do know its classic only?

I doubt Microsoft would have a virus for download from their website.

Microsoft stopped updating Outlook Express for the Mac with the version you tried to download... and it was never updated for Mac OS X (so it won't run). Like suggested, Mail (included with your Mac) is a really good (and free) alternative. If you really need features specific to Outlook, you'll probably have to buy Microsoft Office, which comes with Entourage (the juiced-up version of Outlook).

p.s. funny how it took four responses before anyone offered any real help.
