When right clicking on MP3's you can covert ID3 tags. Whats the difference with picking version "none" and the latest version 2.4?

Also what is the purpose in doing this?

I play my music off a PCMCIA adapter in my Honda's navigation system and am wondering if I will be able to see the info by converting.

Any info will be useful, thanks!

I imagine "None" will remove the ID3 tags. Otherwise, you can choose which version you want your file to have. Some MP3 players can only read v1 tags. v2.4 is the latest and supports more features that previous versions. Take a look at the Wikipedia article for more info.
