So I get word attachments in my Mail program. I double click them and the Word Icon pops up and then goes away. So I decided to restart my MB and try opening the file . . bingo . . it worked . . then after about 10 minutes of using my MB . . . i had to open another Word document . . . . same problem . . . icon then goes away . . does anyone know what the problem is?

troubleshooting means you have to post details, namely what system software, what version of word, stuff like that. Anything relevant.

after that, if you've managed to open a word doc, and if it's still open, what do you mean by "icon then goes away"?
