Okay, I am running DVD Studio Pro 3 on a G5 Quad. The Problem I am having is that I cannot import pre-compressed MPEG 2 video files into my project, thus causing DSP to crash everytime. I can work with uncompressed video files and audio fine and i can even use the QT mpeg2 encoder to do this and build Video_TS files. However, I naturally do not what to be stuck using the QT mpeg2 encoder, since I find better results in Compressor and I would like to soon use BitVice to encode and use DSP to author.

Now, I know the cause for this problem, as explained at this link... "http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302992" DSP 3 doesn't like my PCIe video card on my Quad...and it appears to be a possible large upgrade cost.

My question is (total shot in the dark here)...does anyone know of either A) A way to get DSP 3 to import mpeg2 files on a newer gen G5 that uses a PCIe video card...or B)A way to purchase DVD Studio 4 without buying the whole "Final Cut Sudio 5.1" Bundle retail $1299.00?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Can't you find a DVD Studio 4 upgrade somewhere? Once you get a legitimate copy of that, you can upgrade to the entire Final Cut Studio suite for $199.
