I tried a few search strings but ended up browsing through page after page without finding what I hoped for. Forgive me if I overlooked the answers.
What I'm looking for, or hoping for, is the ability to have tabs created in the background (or foreground), for links which open a new windows. I guess the functionality I'm looking for is CMD + Click without actually having to use that keyboard / mouse combo for diverting new windows to a background tab.
The second is a an inquiry as to whether or not there is a fix for tabfocus? In form elements I can tab through text fields such as name, email, website, and comment. Tabbing again assuming the focus will go to the submit button has yet to happen. The cursor manages to find itself focused on another element somewhere else on the page.

i'd like a cookies manager or something that would let me whitelist certain sites and deny cookies to all sites not on that list.

SafariStand offers this functionality. It is worded as "Open '_blank' Link in New Tab"

All features provided by SAFT.
Faster than his own shadow, Erik already replied to the question below before it was even asked!

I wanted something to do the same thing and came across this little utility recently ....
SafariPlus
Another useful Safari add-on for ad-blocking is ....
SafariBlock
And for enhanced searching there is ....
AcidSearch
I really wish Safari did these things natively though.
