when i click on the download boot camp button nothing ever happens. i have cleared the cache and all cookies. anyone else seen this problem?

You have a popup blocker keeping the download window from opening. Turn off blocking and it should work.

Please post all Boot Camp-related issues in the Alternative Operating Systems forum.
