Please help! I'm about to propose to my girlfriend and as part of the whole sheebang, I've put together an iPhoto 6 slideshow of our lives up to this point that will be playing in our hotel room when we get back.

Everything's great except I put together the slideshow on my G5 DP 1.8ghz and when I try to reconstruct it on my Powerbook (using the exact same shots and music) I get a warning saying I can't have more than 42 shots fit to this song (I have "fit to music" selected). I don't get this warning on the G5. It will play on the Powerbook, but run totally out of sync compared to the G5 (using the exact same pictures and music) and continue long after the music's done.

We're leaving for Hawaii thursday morning. I've got to have it working by then. Can anyone help!?!?

Can't you export slideshows to Quicktime?

Just make it on your G5 and transfer the .mpg over to your Powerbook.

I did that (and I suppose that will be the choice of last resort). It's just that the max export size for a QT movie is 640x480 which doesn't scale up to the Powerbook's screen resolution nearly as beautifully as when iPhoto is scaling up the photos using CoreImage. Also, now and then my Powerbook chokes on full res QT movies and they start to stutter.

Yes - export it, although I don't know why it should be different. Please post the results of your proposal too! Good luck!

Perhaps the time per picture setting is different on your G5 than on the PowerBook? Make sure all your setting match up.
