Any way to salvage my websites without an iweb backup?

Though my sites are still up and running after my HD failure, I did not have any iweb data backed up. Do I need to rebuild my sites or can I pull the data off of idisk? When I load up iweb, it does not go looking for the sites already published on my .mac account. Or can I make it do that?

You should always have your website's data on your computer and not just for backup but for little modifications you might want to make.

What was the purpose of your reply?
The situation stinks, and I for sure will start backing up my domain file, and wouldn't have until I tried to finf out for you... no one seems to have a solution.

That is what I feared. At least I can look at my old sites and do a side by side re-creation...

It seems ridiculous that iweb can't "decompile" site that it created and import them.... sorry if I used that term incorrectly it seems to fit, however, I am not a programmer by any means.

You could use another web editor like NVU to view the site from the internet and make small changes. Of course, that means you still can't use iWeb, but it would enable to to change it without recreating it immediately.

Yeah, it does suck, but learning the hard way is a guarantee you won't fail to back up again. I lost all my iWebsites awhile back. After rebuilding them, I have my Domain.sites file backed up on two different Macs and a USB thumb drive.
A Menu item within iWeb making this easier would definitely be welcome.
