This story was on Digg earlier - has anyone seen it? Tested it? It's got to be good news!

Don't search for this beta too hard.. It is very buggy right now. Even audio alone was very rough.
Wait a while for an updated release.

Ok, so by buggy I mean, it often doesn't even boot. Its locked up my entire prefs panel more than once, particularly when trying to access the mic settings in the sound control panel. Restarting the Mac usually fixes that.
Video worked for a few seconds (and very slow) before dropping the connection completely. And audio worked as normal, but often with huge periods of breaking up, as if there was insufficient bandwidth, yet menu meters was showing the same bandwidth throughput as it always did when audio is working normally. My experience was that video and audio at the same time wasn't even nearly working well enough.
But im really not complaining, as it is not a released beta after all. In fact i'd say it was more an an alpha grade app than a beta.
If all this sounds good to you guys, then by all means download yourselves a hooky copy and try it. However, I'd recommend waiting for a future version. If past experience is anything to go by, it wont be long until the Skype crew have improved versions out.
