I just bought a new hard drive for my MacBook. I want to replace the old one, but first I'm trying to do a complete clone of the current one. Does anyone have any suggestions for good software that will make a reliable perfect clone of my hard drive?

SuperDuper is my favorite. It'll clone your drive perfectly, and it's free. If you want to do automatic backups and such it cost money. http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDup...scription.html

If not, use Carbon Copy Cloner (free): http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html

In terms of making an occasional (non-automated) clone of your hard drive for backup purposes, what are the advantages of SuperDuper and/or Carbon Copy Cloner over Disk Utility?

I have two iBooks and until I figure out a better backup system I'm thinking I might just clone the hard drive of each one to the other. I believe I can do this fairly easily using Disk Utility but wondering if this is the best way to do it.
