They spent years getting it to v 1.0 and now it is already 2.0. Version number inflation. Confusing stuff.

The scrolling tabs is really badly done.

I'm not sure about that. 2.0 does offer several new things.
It's definitely not ready for prime time though. Hitting return in the reply box in MacNN gives me a residual icon bar. It's not in the final message but it looks bad.
Also, the search bar doesn't always respond. Sometimes to get it to work you must manually (re-)select a search engine.

Anyone with a link to the Firefox 2 (Bon Echo) Beta 1, not the RC (releaase candidate). I think it was announced yesterday.

It's slowly growing on me. I've been an Omniweb and Camino user. But I'm willing to give Firefox a try.

The newly integrated 'Spell Check as You Type" on FF 2.0 b1 will be a big one for many.

There are 2 really annoying aspects to using Firefox
How come there is no Text Increase/decrease icon for the menu
Safari has one which makes browsing reading a whole lot more automatic
I know this feature exists in the menu but hey everyone promotes the speed of the browser and I find without this feature browsing reading often makes me switch back to Safari
I find Safari has an Archiving Bookmark feature that makes the firefox experience seem ametueurish and very limiting,
I use Firefox mostly to peruse and read emails. In sum I would use Firefox a whole lot more if at the very least there were a text Inreaser/Decreaser Icon

Check the Firefox extensions. There are a ton of extensions that do a ton of different things, which makes Firefox a far more flexible option than Safari for power users who are attracted to options.
Tab Mix Plus is a far better implementation of tabs than Safari. For starters, session/crash recovery support is nice, and fine tuning tab behavior is also a plus, undo a closed tab is nice, etc.
The base Firefox install will also allow you to open up links from external applications in a new tab rather than a new window, this provides far better organization.
Check out the Ad Block extension while you are at it. I prefer its implementation over PithHelmet.

Still its very annoying that a text enlarger doesn't appear to be in anyone's set of extensions. About 6 months ago I scanned thru all those extensions and consequently found heaps of stuff that were irrelevant to my usage which in sum is pretty low key compared with 'besson 3c's' experience. Yet there didn't appear to one set of Icons that included this feature,I would have thought that by Firefox 2 a text enlarger icon would have been a standard feature of the icon set. I were also hoping that there would have been a Bookmark Icon.
Firefox has a sidebar for History so why not a sidebar for Bookmark Archives ?
Although a really cool feature I tend not to use Tabs much at all.
Firefox is brilliantly fast when one pushes the back button unlike Safari which seems to suffer from a kind of choking
Yes the ad block feature is good I only have to turn this off for one email site,

FF isn't perfect, but these days I'm leaning towards feature richness and compatability over more basic solutions like Safari.
