I am searching for an application that I can use to tag my MP3's properly like i used to on my PC.
An plugin for winamp would allow me to wipe out all ID3 tags on a load of files at once, then re-write the tags from file names.
I have found an app to do the latter, called TriTag, but its a PPC app. Does anyone know of an app that will let me wipe out ID3 tags on a load of mp3's then retag them all using the filename to get the info? And Universal Binary would be great
Cheers

iTunes does a really good job at mass ID3 tag editing, but doesn't do what you specifically want. I think Media Rage might be able to do what you want. If not, try searching for one at MacUpdate or VersionTracker, you should be able to find something without much trouble. Dunno what ones out there are Universal Binaries, but it's a ID3 tag editor... does it really need to be? Should be fast enough in Rosetta.

Ditto on what Apfhex said about not being a UB: who cares? At this point in the game, most software isn't yet native, and you know what? That's fine! A program like an ID3 editor is so simple that it just won't matter.

I've found TriTag to be perfect for my needs, i love its simplicity by yet does everything i need it to do. The only problem i've found is that it appears that the app corrupts some of my mp3?
Situation:
Album #1: stored on a PC, i bring it over to my mac, tag it using TriTag play it in my iTunes. Everything is fine, no problems. I then send it over to my girlfriend who's on a PC. Doesnt play at all.
Album #2: same as above.
I then try to figure out whether TriTag is the cause ... so I go back to the original Album #1 on the PC, i bring it over to my Mac again, TriTag edits some id3 tags .. give it to my girlfriend .. and it works. So ok .. maybe it's not the application. I try it with album #2, it still doesn't work.
By the way, Album #1 and #2 play perfectly fine on the original PC, and they play fine when brought straight over to my girlfriend's PC. It's the intermediate step of TriTagging it that causes the corruption i believe.
Does this seem logical? or am i missing something?
the thing i like about TriTag is that it allows for Filename --> ID3 Tags and ID3 Tags --> Filename .... supporting "variables" ... which i have only come across only 1 other time on the Mac which was in Media Rage. But i really detest its poor UI and it's not easy to use at all. Does anyone else have any recommendations?

I found this amazing software yesterday which does a great job in cleaning up tags: BeaTunes. It's main job is to analyze and add BPM tags to your files and then create smart playlists based on songs that are the same tempo (sort of like a low-tech Pandora). But it's tagging cleanup part is very good too.
