So I created 3 slideshows in iPhoto for incorporation in iDVD. I used "export to iDVD" feature in iPhoto to generate a QuickTime movie of each slideshow, and I created my DVD. However, when I burn the disks in iDVD and then play 'em back on my DVD player, they stutter, freeze, loose audio sync, and show digital artifacts.

I assumed this was just a bad DVD burn, but I made a second one and it was worse than the first. The source movies play back smoothly, so what gives? Is it the OfficeMAX DVDs I'm using? Or does the MacBook have problems streaming data to the SuperDrive? Or does my MacBook have a flakey DVD drive itself?

Your question is about a MacBook, so 1) why is it in the iMac forum, and 2) it shouldn't be in any hardware forum, it should be in the applications forum
iMac Core Duo 1.83 Ghz | 1.25GB RAM | 160HD, MacBook Core Duo 1.83 Ghz | 13.3" | 60HD | 1.0GB RAM

I' pretty sure I put this in Software - Troubleshooting and Discussion > Applications (not iMac) which is exactly where i THOUGHT it should go since it was a problem happening in iDVD. I was paying attention, and I must have missed the "topic to forum mapping guide" when I joined. You guys a little over caffeinated?

I am not convinced its a hardware problem but apparently both of you are so I'll repost in MacBook, although I'm sure I'll get another warning about duplicate posts.

Thanks for the help...

hi bryanmsi,

I have the same problem here with iDVD. I suppose that its not a hardware problem because I burn various data DVDs and CD-ROMs without problem.

Someone could make a constructive coment o help us?

Talk about "blast from the past!" Aside from bryanmsi's issue with where his thread got posted (and yes we do worry about where threads go), I have only limited experience with iDVD. What I've done, though, worked very well, incorporating any media (that was on my computer) into the final product with ease. The only thing I can think of that could have something to do with it would be either the discs used aren't all that great, or there were writing problems... Dunno otherwise...
