Has anyone else noticed slow/chopping scrolling since the update? It's very choppy and it used to be smooth and fast. I even uninstalled SafariStand and it's no better.

Yep, I even started a thread about it. You can use a Safari binary from 10.4.6 to get the smooth scrolling back.
I hope Apple fixes this. It definitely detracts from the overall smoothness of OS X on a MBP.

Where can I get this 'binary' of which you speak.

I've switched back to Shiira. Smooth scrolling and all of the features of Safari, except snapback, which I can easily live without. If you've never tried this browser, you should. The RSS reader isn't as nice as Safari's, but it works and the added features in Shiira make it a better browser, imho.

This *is* a fix! Thank god they've made the scrolling slow! The MacBook display has a dreadful ghosting problem, and this (almost) fixes it!. If you don't see what I mean, compare trackpad scrolling on this page in Safari and Firefox.
See the desktop shimmer in the screenshots? That's the MacBook display and smooth scrolling.

I wonder if its vsynching the scrolling in 10.4.7 now. Perhaps thats why it fixes the ghosting problem, but makes it jerky.

It's not vsync ... if you turn off vsync, it's rather obvious when dragging windows around. :-)
