Alright, I've been reading some of the other posts that are a bit similar to mine however none seem to be quite the severity. I just purchased a macbook and installed a new 100 gig hard drive. After re-installing the OS, I moved my entire library to iTunes and EVERY time I close and reopen it... or it seems every time it sleeps and I get back on and open it I get this message(EVERY time):

The file "iTunes Library does not appear to be a valid music library file. iTunes has created a new music library and renamed this file to "iTunes Library (Damaged) [#]".

Everything is gone and I have to put all back in. EVERYTIME. Hardly worth the trouble... I just want to USE my macbook! Problem Free!?

In addition, all of my bookmarks from Safari are deleted everytime I open the program... so its not one program specific with loss of data... do you think maybe my re-install of OSX ended up being corrupt? I heard someplace that you have to have the macbook plugged in throught the entire install.... or is it something else? Anyone else having this happen repeatedly? Any sugestions or insight to why this maybe happening?

Sounds like it could be a permissions problem. You copied your Safari and iTunes files from your old Mac ya? They might have permissions from your old user account and you new account on your MacBook doesn't have write access to them. If you used the Migration Assistant or if your new account has the same short name, I don't think there would be any problems, but who knows. It at least could not hurt to run Repair Permissions from Disk Utility.

Having your MacBook plugged in or not wouldn't matter. That's surely suggested so that the battery won't run out while OS X is installing.
