I'm not sure if this goes here or in Mac OSX, but ...
I've been looking for a simple "to-do" list application. I know, there's ical, and I also use Palm Desktop, but it's occurred to me that I needed a more on-the-fly one, where I could stash stuff that was going to have to be done that next day. On my palm list are some longer-term items, and I forgot something sort of important, which is wht led me to my search.
In any case, I found some widgets, including some free ones, which was best of all. At the moment, I'm using backpack, after siging up for the free service. I tried both "ta-da" and "Basecamps," but I can't get either one to actually work. In basecamp, while if have some projects listed on the web site, the projects (and the necessary list) won't show up in the widget. And with "ta-da," all i get is a spinning wheel. I can see the lists I created, but not the actual items. Again -- just a spinning wheel.
I suppose it doesn't really matter, b/c Backpack is working very well -- I have it on both my desktop and laptop, and it updates itself automatically; very slick. But I like things to work, or to be able to figure out what I might have done wrong. Anyone have any experience with these? I tried Notepad, as well, but that costs money. And while that's not a dealbreaker, I just got the "list" function to work this morning. And I needed check-off boxes, not just note-taking capability.
