Don't know if this has already been posted online here, but I spotted a link to a nice lightweight spreadsheet application on Ars Technica this morning. It's called Tables and has a nice clean UI.

Hopefully it will get a few new features by the time it comes out of the public beta stage.

I wonder if it will do pivot tables like Excel does. That is the only reason I still have excel on my Mac.

Impressive. Especially for a 0.16 release. I'll be looking forward to future releases.

Essentially it is a spreadsheet interace with about 60 functions. No graphing capability, no Pivot tables, etc. So, it does look like o.16 release. But clean and attractive.
Ignore the argumentative nature of this poster. He is old and can't engage in meaningful dialog
very long. Therefore, management asks that you at least humor him. Thanks.
