Hi all, I need your help.
I've recently been exploring basic image editing, and I also have a Wacom tablet, so what Im after are a couple of free Apps.
1) a basic image editing program
2) a scetching tool
The latter will be fairly basic, cartoon-style drawings.
I was wondering if there were any free/shareware apps out there that were any good?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Yep. Google it. Make sure to include "graphics" in your search, or you'll wind up with a lot of hits about a rude word for someone with a physical handicap.

Without any additional words, the app I'm refering to is the first 10 hits for "gimp" on Google.

If you like GIMP, try out Seashore. It's early still, but is inspired heavily by the GIMP and is full of luscious Aqua goodness. I like it quite a bit, personally, but YMMV.

When looking for a Gimp package, be sure to get the Gimp.app one hosted by sourceforge. There's also one called MacGimp, but they make you pay out the nose for it, which is bullshit because Gimp is GPL'ed.
Also, if you need a vector graphics program (like Illustrator) you should try Inkscape.

Also, if you want GIMP to be configured like Photoshop, there's GimpShop.

You do realize that the GPL allows you to charge for the service of providing a pre-compiled binary, don't you?
