I'm typing this from my powerbook 12 867 (soon to be upgraded to 1.33 from an ebay board

) but on this machine running 10.4.7 with 1.25 gb of ram Safari's scroll speed and general cpu utilization is SOOO SLOW.. (CPU goes to 100% when scrolling, about 70% when loading slashdot.org, scrolling on that page too) Contrasted to what I'm currently typing this in, Flock, loading stays at about 40% and scrolling maxes at 70% and is smooth. I like flock, but really I'd rather use Safari. Can anybody conjecture as to why Safari 2.0 is so slow? I tried the nightly build of webkit and its much much faster... but the problem with webkit is that it doesnt support any of my plug ins (pithhelmet, pdf viewer, etc) Anybody have any suggestions? I know this has been in the forums before, and I've seen the posts on macnn, and elsewhere, but no one seems to have addressed the problem as to why this is happening. I would switch to webkit if someone could tell me how to get plug ins working, but that seems like a long shot :/. Thanks for reading
