I remember when i used to use QCD player on my PC I was able to look through my library of songs and when i found one i wanted to play next, i could just right click on it, and select "play next" in the context menu. When the current song finished, the song i requested next would play. Is there a way to do this in itunes?

you can do that to an extent by using party shuffle. it has a hundred song limit, but you could create a playlist of songs to narrow down party shuffle's selection of upcoming songs to ones you're interested in hearing.

As said by previous poster if you start party shuffle with a song, then right clicking on another song will give you the 'play next in Party Shuffle' option, which basically is whtt you are looking for.

the applescript kinda works. you cant just select the next track, run the script, then expect that track to play afterward. its more of a bookmark. for example, you select one song. then you can look through your library, passing the selected song. once the current song ends you run the script and the selected song will play even if it is not in front of you.

Is there an "Applescript for Dummies" kind of reference available somewhere?
I would love to be able to tell an application to close the current file window and open the next file in the directory simply by clicking a hotkey combination.
