I bid on the incorrect item and ended up winning the item before I could cancel the bid. What should I do? SHould I just not pay or what?

The only thing to do is complete the purchase, and then turn around and sell it. Yeah, you lost some money, but at least you won't be a jerk.
Of course the alternative is to get a nasty rating from the seller!

Well, if you were withing like 1 minute of the auction ending and couldn't cancel, then try explaining it. Otherwise, you'll just have to suck it up and pay.

I think you can retract your bid through eBay, but it's not recommended. I would just go through with the transaction unless you feel you made a big mistake.

The auction is already over, so that is not possible. You cannot retract during a live auction with less than 12 hours to go either.

Oh, I apologize then, I never tried a bid retraction so I was not aware of the particulars.

I would contact the seller and explain the problem. Depending on how "nice" he or she is, the winning bid may just go away. They have the option to offer a "second chance" to the next highest bidder. If they won't work with you, then I agree, complete the transaction and then resell. Don't risk bad feedback!
