Hi. I just got a macbook for gradschool and am wondering whether I can use my .mac outgoing mail server to push out mail from my school email address. I wish to be able to email out using my fsu address from home as well as at school.

Thanks in advance.

Nope.

Check with your school if you can use their SMTP server from off campus.

Why don't you use your ISPs outgoing server instead?

Won't he run into the same problem there too? Most SMTP servers are setup so they won't relay mail if the mail is coming from a different account.

Probably... I had forgotten that one of the curses of the effing spammers is that they have screwed up our ability to make use of a feature for legitimate uses.
