I did a search and didn't come up with anything recent. I have an older Handspring Visor (plain ol') and am trying to install the latest Palm desktop and HotSync manager from Palm's website. The installer gets about 74% completed and then craps out with an error that it couldn't be installed. It's the HotSync that's the problem, the desktop installs fine by itself. Is there a conflict with the Intel processor? Anyone run into this and know a solution? TIA,

Let's move this to Applications? It sounds like this is only an application issue-even if it's related to the MBP being an Intel Mac.

For what it's worth, I don't know if the latest Palm desktop will support a Visor. Mine is stuck permanently with OS version 2.something because Handspring didn't put an upgrade path in the hardware. So it's quite possible that the installer is seeing what you're trying to sync with the software and giving up because it can't talk with that much older an OS. Just my 2¢...

Sorry about posting in the wrong area, thanks for moving my thread.

I was afraid that my Visor was getting too old, LOL. Looks like I'll be picking up a new one soon. Thanks for the insight.

I'm running it on my MBP to backup and install apps on my Treo. It's working fine. Although I must admit, I never installed it on the MBP, I copied over the necessary files from a PB G4 install. Maybe it's just the installer than won't run properly under Rosetta.

Probably more likely the problem than the "old Visor" point I made.
