Hi everyone,
I am starting school again in September and need Office. I have a new MacBook, and would like to have a version of Office which does not need Rosetta, so I have two questions.
Has anyone heard/have an educated guess when Office will run on Intel with no emulation?
AND
If I purchase Office now, will I be able to upgrade to the Intel version when/if it comes out at a reasonable price?
Thanks for your help,
Chris

I'm wondering about this aswell.. The current version is Mac Office 2004.
We are now getting close to year 2007 and to me it seems a little stupid to buy the 2004 version..
Anybody know the releasedate for the next version? Or got an educated guess?

I figure Apple Expo in Paris that starts today would be an excellent event to introduce a new version.
I somehow doubt that Microsoft is up to it yet, though.

Office 2004 was released one year after the Windows release, so I expect a new Mac version by 2008, one year after Office 2007 for Windows.

Though it's unfortunate that Rosette eats up a lot of RAM, Office really does run just fine. It's gonna be a while until the UB version comes out, and there's really no reason not to use the current version, which is pretty much unavoidable in education.
Just bump yourself to 2GB of RAM and don't worry about it.
