i just finished downloading a new software called manga studio EX on my mac, and when i tried to open the file it was in a rar format. Thinking this was rather stupid i tried to open it anyway, but it neve did work.

So my question is, is winrar available for macs??

There are rar utilities for the Mac - just perform a search.

Your sig is going to get smacked down for being way too large, btw.

Stuffit Expander is free and does .rar. It's a utility you'll probably want to have around anyway.

MacPar Deluxe and UnRAR X both work for me but they seem to be much slower than WinRAR on a Windows machine...

I found MacPAR Deluxe to be immensely faster on an MacBook than a G4- not sure what computer you're using.

I have used both Mac Par Deluxe and UnRAR X on my dual 1.25GHz G4 and MacBook. They just seem much slower than QuickPar or WinRAR on a 3.0GHz P4 laptop that I use...

open the .rar file w. suffit expander on an OS 10.4 mac. it doesn't open on pre 10.4 OS, or at least I don't have the software.

when the dmg file opens and begins to verify, press skip or else it will not mount.

There's a new program called The Unarchiver (see another thread in this forum) that can unrar. Works well so far.
