I'm looking for something akin to the StuffIt Browser. Where I can view the contents of a zip archive in a window and then drag items to and from the window to archive and unarchive items. Does such an animal exist?

Or an app that will treat zip files like folders in the finder?

Anyone know how to verify an archives integrity? Does Disk Utility handle verification zip files?

Jar Inspector does something like that, but only for .jar files. It would be nice to be able to do that with any archive.

I hate to say it but this is one area where Windows is actually better -- dealing with .zip archives. I wish there was something for OS X, too.

It should be built into the finder ... something like the CM that shows package contents.

Stuffit deluxe adds a contextual menu item to see what is in the contents of an archive (.zip, .sit, .sitx, .bin, .tar, .tgz, .gz, and a couple of others). It also lets you extract individual items from an archive from a submenu.

It would be nice if a window browser weere added to OS X, at least for thebuilt in archive formats.
