I am about to buy a new Mac Pro, 23” Cinema display, and an iSight camera.

AFAIK, that system/configuration does not come with Photo Booth. So could I use Pacifist on my MacBook to then (copy) install Photo Booth on the Mac Pro? Is that even doable and are there any downsides?

It should work. I know that it worked when you copied PhotoBooth from an iMac G5 to a PowerMac G5 with an iSight, so I assume it will also work with MacBook->Mac Pro with iSight.

You don't even need Pacifist. Just copy the app.
