I am making a slideshow using pictures in iMovie. I have added songs to the movie, but the songs last longer then the pictures in the slideshow. Is there a way to crop the songs at the end so they end when the slideshow does? I DO NOT want to export this movie, I take the movie file from the iMovie file (show package contents/Shared Movies/iDVD) and drag that onto iDVD. This takes a lot less time then exporting it. Is there a way to edit the music files directly in iMovie?

yes you can.
In the end of the slide show select the rest of the sound and delet it.
You can also fade out the sound.
