hi, i ve been using i book G4, and powerpoint for mac V.X, and all is fine . but now i want to upgrade to mac book pro, my concern is that i ve tons of powerpoint files made already in i book, but i just can't open them in intel based Mac , i ve tried in apple center with i mac, mac book and mac book pro, and all sucked and jammed with a 70MB powerpoint file. The keynote is better but still very slow comparing to my i book, i do try the open office in mac book, but need to open the X11 first, so also waste of time, i am not sure if it is related to the version of mac office ( still power PC based rather than intel based), anyone has similar experience or opinion?
May be i should wait till the software support is more mature and stable .....

Not sure about Office v. X, but Office 2004 works just fine on the new Macs.

No problems here with Office 2004, Keynote, or NeoOffice (Mac-native port of OpenOffice.org) on my MacBook. You should be fine, in my opinion.

hi there,
I've seen the same issue w/ my boss's presentation. I think the issue might be the size of the powerpoint file that you're running and the embedded images/videos. Some projectors have memory limits that won't (randomly) allow some of these embedded objects to be projected. I've had issues of powerpoint files crashing on me repeatedly _without_ saving a recovery file!! Again, I was working on a single slide (4FT x3 FT) with multiple graphics files. Hope that helps. Anyone out there knows of a fix?
