It happens very very frequently, and often right after I 'reopen' it after a crash. I can't find any pattern to it anymore. I heard something about junk mail filtering doing it, so i turned that off, but it didn't help.

It's still doing this all the time, I think it happens when it auto checks for new mail. Any ideas at all?

99% chance you have a bad email message and the stack trace supports that theory.

Access your email account through some other method (web interface, terminal interface, etc) and delete the last 5 or so read messages and some of the first unread ones for good measure.
