Trying to download an album with iTunes 7. Every song fails to download and I get the error message: itunes "An unknown error occured (-50)."

This is entirely frustrating. Ideas? I tried googling and looking at Apple's support database, but it only had solutions for Windows iTunes related to McAfee Privacy something.

I don't know, but it sounds like the store is down if that's the message you're getting.

I doubt the store is down as I was just in it and selected to purchase this album.

Still getting it more than 24 hours later. This is incredibly frustrating. I got all these songs in this "Downloads" folder but none of them are on my HD and when i hit the "reload" button it gives me above error.

I used to get that error all the time with iTunes 4.x on Windows whenever I'd have a certain app open.

So I quit iTunes and relaunch with it being the only app open (quit everything else) and now the "Downloads" folder is gone as are all my songs. I am going to keep a watch on the credit card to see if they double charge me for it. If they do I won't be so very happy.

I also tried to go into the itunes forum on apple's discussion forum. It timed out on multiple attempts.

I too have experienced this problem with iTunes 7.

The solution that worked for me, was to quit iTunes, then relaunch it. You then find that the Downloads folder has gone, but if you go into the Store menu and click on Check for Purchases back comes the download folder, and all the purchased tunes start to download.

As I say this worked for me, but it is an annoying problem, so I have emailed Apple about it.
