I can't find any other threads about this here, but there seems to be an issue with iTunes 7 when ripping and burning.

I have a new 24" iMac and ripping CD's should be quick. The fact it the iMac only rips at between 3x and 5x regardless of the CD I use and the settings in iTunes. I am ripping to AAC 128, without CD correction, same settings as I used in iTunes 6 when I had ripping speeds of 20x.

Also it seems burning is not that quick either, taking over 4 mins to burn a 40 minute CD.

I am not the only person with this issue, there are a number of people on the Apple discussion boards who have it as well.

Anyone know how to fix it? Is it 'wait for 7.0.1" to arrive?

I am ripping on my iMac G5 at 16x-18x. Burning takes just as long for me though.
