I'm actually still running the pathetic IE on my G5/Tiger becaue it's the only Browser that you can click on a JPEG thumbnail, and it automatically downloads to your folder of choice and opens the image in Preview simultaneaously.

I posted something like this 2 years ago when Tiger was on the verge of release and everyone said "Oh the great new Safari will do that, just wait!". Uh yeah, no.

Anything out there capable of doing this? So I can let go of IE once and for all.

Even cooler would be a preference that is smart enough to recognize all the downloadeable JPEG links on a given page and automatically open them upon command and/or save them to folder of choice.

E.G.- Myspace photogallery, Photobucket, Porn Site, whatever you can imagine....

Anyone?

Could you just drag the jpg from Safari to the folder where you want to put it?

So it doesnt even open the image in the browser? It automatically downloads it? Sounds like a bug not a feature. Anyway, you can easily set Fiirefox to ask where you want to download stuff everytime so you can just "right-click/save as" and choose where you want to put it.

OR with Safari you can "right-click/Download linked file" which will download the file and assuming its an image, open up Preview automatically.

Do a search on the usual application search sites. There are whole apps to do this (as well as Firefox plugins to do it). You're hardly the first person to want this function.

Tooki!
You're everywhere, man.

It's obvious that I can "right" click 'Save As', I've been doing this for years. That involves an extra step of thinking beyond just click. Period.
That can get very exhausting after awhile.

Still, I have not found an app past explorer that does what I'd mentioned.
I did install a Firefox plugin but it's lame and has no instructions, something goofy about saving images in Tabs or something.

CLICK.... into the folder it goes. Not view in another window, that's what i'm searching for!
