Does anyone know why this might be.

Under iTune 6 my Music Library file size was 27.14GB.

After upgrading to iTunes 7 the files size is 26.75GB.

That's a pretty significant difference.

Has anyone else noticed the same phenomenom?

All I've noticed is that iTunes seems to associate album names to cover art instead of individual song files, so maybe it removed redundant images?

I'd check and make sure all your songs are in the Library after the update too...

I noticed the same thing -- mine went from 35 to 32 gigs.
