I really need to know if Ill be able to run 10.5 on my current gen mac book. As far as I can remember 10.5 is now fully 64 bit and I also remember in Steve Jobs keynot speach in August he said , we have found a way to make 64 bit applications functional on a 32 bit platform without the need for emulations. Im trying to find the august keynot speech but no luck so far.

Can anyone confirm that I will be able to install 10.5 when it comes out on my 32 bit macbook? It would be a shame if I spend 1400 dollars on a mac book when I can not install the new operating system when it comes out.

Of course you will. 10.5 will work on 32/64 bits and both PPC and Intel CPUs.

Of course 10.5 will run on 32 bit MacBooks, PowerBooks and iBooks.

He didn't say that they have found a way to make 64 bit applications functional on 32 bit computers, because they didn't find a way. It's not possible. If an application had a 64 bit executable only, it would not run. Practically all 64 bit applications will come as a 32/64-bit "fat" binary though.

ps:
Here's the keynote:

I will take a snippet of the keynot which states that 64 bit apps can run on 32 bit machines with out the need for emulation
You're welcome to try, but you will not find him saying that.
