Can 10.4.8 run SPSS 13 properly now?

As you might know, running SPSS 13 wasn't possible on an intel mac because supposedly Rosetta caused problems with calculations
"SPSS may generate incorrect results on Intel-based Macs"
Well now Apple has issued a certain fix in 10.4.8 titled: "Improves the accuracy of Rosetta numerics and addresses Altivec translation issues on Intel-based Macs."
Does this mean that SPSS 13 would work properly on an intel mac now?

FYI I received this from SPSS today:
- We currently do not support any version of SPSS for Mac on any of the Intel-based machines. We anticipate SPSS 15 for Mac which will be compatible on these machines being released sometime second quarter of next year.
Thank you.

Typical of SPSS Mac support. Makes me consider whether another stats package might be better.

I dropped SPSS a few years ago, mostly because of their poor mac support, and started using R, which is an open-source s+. Now I much prefer it, and R is already Intel-ready.

Yep, SPSS's history on the Mac has been spotty. I am making the move to JMP (5.1) for now as I would like a nice GUI. I also have R but haven't explored it much.
Mathematica can also do stats and runs well on the Mac though it is overkill for that purpose alone.
Stata looks decent as well.
Generally, I would rather wrangle up the $$ for a nice GUI than mess with command line or a programming language.

It was the fact that R behaves like a programming language that really sold me on it. There are a few different approaches to an R GUI more similar to, say, SPSS (e.g. R-Commander). I haven't really investigated them however.
