What in the world is a -50 error in iTunes. I can't download any new purchased songs. I have 17 pending. It's telling me to check my network connection and duh, I have internet just fine as I'm typing this and I can also see everything in the iTunes store. Can't even download the free song of the week either!

Any thoughts?

Hi guys. Even if this is my first post, I used to post here often like 6-7 years ago, then I stopped. I'm using a new handled now because, of course, I forgot the old one. So, thanks for all the help you guys give and I will try to contribute also.

Now for the error -50 issue, I can confirm that closing and restarting iTunes solves this problem for me.

Later.

I just installed iTunes 7.0.2 via the software update and after the agreeing to the software license agreement this happens:

The iTunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occurred(-50)

Repairing software permissions didn't solve the problem. What ever I do, iTunes won't start.

EDIT: Reinstalling doesn't work. Quiting everything else and then try to start it doesn't work either.

Strange. Maybe your library got badly corrupted. You've dumped iTunes preferences right?

The other accounts are able to start iTunes and move through the setup process(search for iTunes library, music store), so there is something wrong with my account that doesn't make iTunes run properly.

The only pref file I can find is com.apple.iTunesHelper.plist, isn't there supposed to be one more? Deleting that file and then starting iTunes, doesn't make a new .plist file.
