How about an app that places the artwork from your current - or most recently played iTunes song - as your desktop picture?

I want a script written that when I start typing on the 'NN Forums...it tells me to "Stop" in multiple languages, turns off my cable modem, and then slaps me across the head.

Yeah, I want that.

I would like a not-dumb application to allow me to decompile midi music files to text and then recompile them when I have finished editing them. I would also like an application that will allow me to make karaoke files from midi files.

I'd like an app that lets me wire my doorbell into my computer. With a cam mounted above the doorway, it would pop up a video feed of my doorway everytime someone rings the doorbell.

A button to activate my trap door, sending unwanted visitors into a flaming tar pit would be a worthy add-on.

I want Safari to be renamed, since that is not going to happen, I wonder which current browser would likely love to get a new kick-ass name I have in mind…

LOL

How about this:

You have a feed from a video camera to your Mac.

The application brings itself to the front, or pops up an alert, or starts recording, whenever it detects motion beyond a certain threshold . . . thus you can get an alert when someone comes to call - or a video of the burglar kicking in your door - and perhaps even a call to your mobile phone . . .

I certainly would like to see the face of the bastard that broke into my flat and stole my previos Mac . . . !

BadPixel™

This is a plug-in (or app) that replaces the (fixed) output (in a DV stream) of a bad cell in the CCD of a DV camera with data that is extrapolated - or averaged out - from the surrounding data.

For example. My Canon DV video camera has recently started displaying one pixel always on when it captures. It's not the display, it's the camera's CCD.

This can't be an uncommon phenomenon.

If I could replace that pixel with another that would blend in - i.e. was averaged out from the surrounding pixels - the problem would be far less noticeable and the footage would useable.

Have I made any sense?

I want an app that will create 6 folders, and then rotate them 90 degrees, and then put them back.

The new Canon Rebel 400D does this; sort of. It has software that detects and attempts to remove sensor dust from images (also via a custom mapping you can do). Linky-dinky doo
