mystery:

have posted some songs on myspace.
one of them some weeks ago (converted to mp3 in itunes 6.x);
3 new ones in itunes 7.0.1.

a good number of people cannot play the newer-posted songs.

all info is same (bit rate, etc).

i'm trying to figure out the problem.

is it possible that the newer itunes is encoding differently? or simply that it is showing as "encoded in itunes 7.0.1", and that is the problem?

any ideas anyone??

He is encoding MP3s with iTunes 7 in order to post them on MySpace, but whereas people could play his iTunes 6 encoded files, they cannot play iTunes 7 files. I don't use MySpace or share MP3s with friends, so I don't know what the answer is.

i am just grabbing at straws here...just itunes 7 seems like a common denominator...
