Perian doesn't supersede QT's mp4 file parser, so any Advanced Simple Profile (or above) mp4 file will still need to be played in VLC/MPlayer (or converted to another file format). Besides things like OGM and MKV.

Why do you need QT Pro to play MP4?

Anyways QTAmateur will expose most of QT Pro's functionality for free.

That's exactly what I was going to ask.

VLC also has some post-processing abilities you can try.

Well hey, thanks for not mentioning your requirements to begin with! That's very helpful.

If you think VLC's fullscreen is too "pixellated," I highly doubt you're going to be happy with fullscreen in any other player. If your source is low resolution, it's going to get pixellated when you scale it up. There's no way around that.

Like I said, just use QTAmateur then.

Or do this: Full screen for free
