I have tried to download and install the newest version of iTunes from Apple's website about five times now. Each time I run the installer, after it asks me where to install it, I get to the point where I click the "Install" option, and it keeps coming back with "You cannot continue. There is nothing to install."
On the screen that has the "Install" option at the bottom, the only things on written in the box above it are:
Package Name Action Size
iTunes Skip 0 bytes
iTunes Phone Driver Skip 220KB
Space Required: 0bytes Remaining: 59.4GB
Both options have UNchecked checkboxes, but both are grayed out and unavailable to check.
I have deleted all versions of iTunes previously installed. I have downloaded the installer file 5 DIFFERENT times, deleted each DMG file after I found it was faulty, so I'm not trying the exact same file over and over again. I have no idea what's going on!
The whole thing that started me on this process was the fact that my iPod would be recognized by the computer (show up as an icon on the desktop), but NOT in iTunes.
WHAT'S GOING ON? Please help!
