So whenever I open a .doc file from online or and email etc. it opens up in pages. I don't know how to make word open everytime I open a .doc file. I tried right clicking on a .doc file and choosing word as the default program, but the same thing happens when I open a file in my email. So how do I make word default?

Changing the application that opens a document

You can select a specific application to open a document. You may want to do this if you prefer using a certain application or if you don't have the application that was used to create the document.

1.) Select the document in the Finder and choose File > Get Info.
2.) Click "Open with" in the Info window.
3.) Choose an application from the pop-up menu or choose Other to locate a different application.
4.) To use the application you chose to open all similar documents (the same type as the current document and created by the same application), click Change All.

I already did that. It only works if I open a file already saved on my computer, pages still opens when I open a file from my email.
