I am pleased to see that version 8 of Adobe Acrobat (expected mid-November) will be a Universal Binary. However, one question I can't easily find the answer to is: Will it finally have decent form-creation tools (à la LifeCycle Designer in Acrobat for Windows)?

I've heard Acrobat 7 and Acrobat 8 won't see much differences in form-creation tools unfortunately.

So stupid. Oh, well. I guess it will have to be the Windows version for me, then.

I forgot where I read that, so it could be wrong, but that's what I remember from the article.

The question is whether I can finally save data in a form … at least in an external file (no, I don't keep my hopes up ).
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Well they released the darned thing, and still no LifeCycle Designer for Mac, still no Standard version for Mac. Windows only. I guess I'll buy the Windows version and run it under BootCamp. What a shame.

This paves the way for very negative things for the Macintosh development community. More and more software management folks are going to say, "Don't bother. They can just run it under Windows."

Then don't buy the Windows version. You are just supporting that attitude.

Well, yes, I suppose so. But I have to get my work done, some of which involves creating fill-in forms. HTH am I supposed to do that without LifeCycle Designer?

Have you considered PDFPen Pro? I haven't used the pro version (we have the non-pro) version. According to the website it ca "create cross-platform fillable PDF forms".

No, but that looks like a good alternative.

Anyone know if Acrobat 8 includes a Universal version of the Adobe PDF web browser plug-in?
