I purchased a new hard drive to back up some data, connected it to my Power Mac and it showed up without asking me to format it. I loaded it up with a bunch of data, but now cannot access the data because every time I restart the computer, I am asked to format this new hard drive (which would erase all the data). Does anyone know of any way that I can recover the data?

I have tried disk doctor and Norton's but those don't seem to be able to help.
Thanks for your help!

Use Diskwarrior. Boot the system with the disk and it might be able to rebuild the drive without data loss.
